Professionally Filmed Life Stories
Emmy-winning documentary producers, in your city, capturing the life story of someone you love — on film, forever.
"Video captures what text and photographs cannot: the laugh, the pause before answering, the gesture that means something only to the family."
Stories of Your LifeThe Opportunity
Every day in the United States, roughly 10,000 people turn 65. The Baby Boom generation — the largest and most photographed, filmed, and storied generation in American history — is now entering its final chapters.
Their children, Gen X and older Millennials, are at peak earning power and increasingly aware that the window to capture these stories is closing.
The "life story" space currently exists in two broken halves: a nephew with an iPhone, or a $25,000 ghostwriter. Professional video at an accessible price point? Nobody is doing it.
The Process
Select from three thoughtfully designed packages — from a single focused chapter to the full definitive portrait. Complete a brief intake questionnaire about your loved one.
We match you with an experienced documentary or broadcast producer in your region. A pre-session consultation call builds rapport and maps the story.
Your producer arrives — to your home, a care facility, or anywhere meaningful — with professional lighting and audio. They know how to draw the story out.
Within 3–4 weeks, your beautifully edited film is delivered via a private, branded streaming page — shareable with the whole family, lasting for generations.
Service Packages
All packages include a pre-session consultation call, professional filming, expert editing, and private digital delivery.
Why It Matters
"The average person will spend more on a birthday party for their dog than on preserving their grandmother's story."
Video captures what text and photographs cannot: the laugh, the pause before answering, the gesture that means something only to the family.
A professionally produced video interview — lit properly, recorded cleanly, thoughtfully edited — becomes an artifact that plays at funerals, family reunions, and milestone birthdays for generations.
The emotional stakes are enormous, which is exactly why quality matters and why families will pay for it. Stories of Your Life exists to make professional-quality storytelling accessible at the moment that matters most.
For Producers
The documentary and television production world is populated with talented, experienced producers and directors who are between projects, underemployed, or looking for meaningful freelance work.
Stories of Your Life offers a pipeline of emotionally rewarding, flexible, well-compensated projects — while the platform handles the brand, client relationships, and quality standards you couldn't access solo.
On a $1,695 Full Life package, producers receive approximately $800–900. For a Single Chapter at $795, producers receive $350–400 — competitive with comparable freelance rates, with all client acquisition and scheduling handled by the platform.
What We Look For
Interview-driven formats, long-form journalism, or television. You know how to make a nervous subject feel safe.
Comfortable with a cinema camera, basic lighting, and audio — or able to partner with a local DP while you direct and conduct.
Prior experience with elderly subjects is a plus. What's required: real interest in other people's lives.
Paid onboarding covers best practices for filming elderly subjects, delivery specs, and quality standards. Every deliverable is reviewed before client delivery.
Founder Fit
What no competitor can easily replicate is a founder who has spent a career understanding what makes a human life on camera feel true and worth watching. That conviction, embedded in every touchpoint of the product, is the brand. A founder with an Emmy-winning documentary background, an existing network of experienced producers, and a track record of building service businesses is unusually well-positioned to execute this.
